Born and raised in Southern California, Melanie Oliva is now a first year student at Pepperdine University. She is planning to major in Biology and earning two minors: English and Great Books. After completing her undergraduate degree, she plans to attend medical school - the first step to pursuing her career in the medical field as a surgeon. Melanie is passionate about rescuing dogs from animal shelters, volunteering with her church, being a member of Pepperdine’s debate team, and serving her hometown and Pepperdine communities.
